What is a paint correction?

Paint Correction is Permanent Repair or Restoration of damaged clear-coated paintwork. It involves removing defects in the top paint layer by DA machine polish to produce a more desired look or finish. Defects include swirl marks, hard water marks, etching, scratches and fading. Paint correction uses different grades of cleanser, polish, or compound.

High quality paint correction requires a certain level of training, experience, skills, and paint work knowledge. This is one of our most sought after services we offer.

A free in-person consultation is required to accurately estimate damage and recommend the proper service.

What is a ceramic coating?

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to the clear coat of your car’s paint, creating an extra layer of protection. Depending on the kind of coating you get, it is a semi-permanent bond that does not wash away or break down and doesn’t need to be repeated every few months.

Before the ceramic coating is applied, your paint is corrected for most scratches and swirl marks. Having a detailer apply a ceramic coating is a great investment and adds value to your car.

Benefits of Ceramic coatings

Protection from UV Damage and Oxidation

If a vehicle is often exposed to the sun, its paint will begin to oxidize, resulting in dulled and faded paint. A layer of Ceramic Coating protects a vehicle’s paint from the sun’s ultraviolet rays, thereby reducing the amount of oxidization.

Protection from Chemical Stains and Etching

Another danger for your car’s paint is chemical staining from naturally acidic contaminants. By creating a chemically resistant surface, a ceramic coating can keep some contaminants from bonding to your vehicle’s paint. Your vehicle will be more resistant to staining and etching, provided the contaminant is removed in a timely manner.

Easier to Clean

One of the most significant features of a Ceramic Coating is that it is hydrophobic, which is a fancy way of saying it repels water. When a vehicle has a hydrophobic ceramic coating, water will bead on the surface and slide off more easily. This means that mud and grime will have a more difficult time bonding to your vehicle’s paint, and when you wash your car, contaminants are removed with less effort.

Gloss Enhancement

If you want your paint to pop with gloss, you will want to add a ceramic coating. A good ceramic coating enhances the reflective properties of your car’s paint and clear coat, adding to the depth and clarity of your paint.

Our Services Get Reported to CarFax

Ceramic coatings protect your vehicle for longer periods of time, preserving the value and maintaining a shine better than the showroom floor. With the large investment, we support all of our work with Gtechniq’s Manufacturer Warranty and report all services performed to CarFax. Each vehicle serviced is scanned into our system and generates accurate and detailed reports, which are kept on file and sent off to CarFax.

All ceramic coating applications require paint correction. The properties of a ceramic coating will be diminished, and the longevity of the coating is uncertain without this step of the process. The self-cleaning attributes, surface slickness allowing your vehicle to stay cleaner longer, and proper adhesion of the coating require a completely smooth surface.

Minor scratches and swirls will not only be permanent under the coating but will disrupt these properties.

Paint correction varies per vehicle. Please book a free consultation to get an accurate quote for your vehicle starting at $749.95
